Helen FitzGerald reflects the colour and aesthetic value of the Australian continent, primarily within the landscape. Her ability to use rich, vibrant colour portrays the many moods of Australia. Helen’s handling of paint depicts reality as well as the artist’s minds view and allows us to be reminder of our vast Australian wilderness. Helen has travelled extensively all over Australia and compresses her experience into her art.
Helen studied art at the Midland College of TAFE with teachers such as Ian Hill. She later did workshops with D’Hange Yammanee who taught her the importance of tonal values and light in her paintings. Helen has a great love for the bush and all things Australian and try’s to portray this passion in her art.
